I am also in favor of what Jerry has stated. I will go one small step though and suggest that we allow any ignition system when the rules are opened for discussion. It is far less expensive and much faster to be able to test a timing curve change while you are on the dyno - not sending it back and forth to the manufacturer.
I would also like to see Jerry finish his proposal for redundant / battery operated tail light. I am with you on that one Jerry - we were close last year but as I recall had a hard time with verbage that would have been idiot proof - fool proof is easy!

RE: compatibilty question
We used a slightly newer Polaris skid under our 550X oval sled and it went right in with one small adjustment on the rear arm. The front bolts were used in the stock location. The rear arms had to be turned on the spline by grinding out the locating groove. Went in fine and worked great. PM me if you need pics or have questions. Tony P

CONGRATULATIONS
On Thursday, June 26th, the Berthier Member of Provincial Parliament, François Benjamin, honored 7 of his constituents.
One of this group, "Uncle Jacques Villeneuve" received the medal of the National Assembly, for his long career in motorsport including Formula Atlantic, the Can-Am Series, CART and snowmobile.
"The Berthier area is now better known on a regional, national and international level, due to Jacques Villeneuve's contribution. With all his racing success, with all the courage he showed in coming back after serious injuries and again at the present time as a "teacher" for youngters making their debut in GO KARTS, Jacques is an example of a person of this area who serves as a model with the goal of continuing the development of his community", mentioned Mr Benjamin in his presentation.
Our congratulations to Jacques, who, for this "special occasion", had chosen to wear a tie, a truly rare occurrence!!!

Sleds For Sale
We have 2 champ cahssis for sale - building 2 new ones. Both chassis are 2 seasons old and identical except for the glass configuration and steering post position. These are VERY similar to Hooper Chassis. They both have 116 tracks and Wahl skids. The first one is Mark Meyers sled that larry Day rode in Boonville and Shawinigan to (2) second place finishes. This chassis has only a hanful of races on it and is in very nice shape. No engine, hood or seat. This would make a very nice Limited 500 chassis as well. The second is mine and will have a new tunnel - very easy crash but I slid in to the sled a$$ first, broke my tail bone and bent the tunnel - OUCH:S. My has Cat glass/belly pan. I have finished on the Podium in Pro Champ and won in Semi Pro. Both are reasonbly priced. Serious only please. Delivery/meet part way/pick up - whatever. Thanks for looking.

STOCK Wye pipe - open exhaust after that
INSTALLED cylinder volume spec
If we open the exhaust, even with low compression we drive the horsepower way above what we have now. A stock wye pipe is imperative. I don't think any one can argue that we are at the 130hp mark now. The new "spec" engines that the manufacture's are using in the 600 class all make 128 to 131 hp now with the stock exhaust and 40mm carbs. As far as tech goes, an installed volume spec is not that difficult to check. Any question on a wye pipe is simple to address - measure it and then make them swap it out with the guy that finished fifth or further back.
